As one of the first family medicine residency programs in the country, and the first in Illinois, we strive for excellence in education and patient care.

We receive approximately 700 applications each year to fill our twelve positions. All applications received prior to the deadline are reviewed. All applicants are evaluated based on preparedness, aptitude, ability, academic credentials, communication skills, and personal qualities.
Factors that weigh into the decision to offer an interview are as follows:
Your ERAS application must be complete including:
- Common Application
- USMLE/COMLEX scores; the number of attempts on each exam is considered as well
- Clinical Skills Assessment Results
- 3 Letters of Recommendation
- Clinical Skills Assessment Results
- 3 Letters of Recommendation
- Personal Statement
- CV
- You must have graduated from medical school within the last two years.
- Your application must reflect that you are specifically seeking family medicine training.
- You must have at least one year of clinical experience in the Untied States' health system other than an externship.
